U.S. May Have Covered Up Soviet Massacre

Recently receased documents paint a picture that contradicts the claim that our WWII-era government was part of "the Greatest Generation." Now, it looks like the US was more a villain than a saintly wartime hero. In 1943, American and British POWs sent coded messages to Washington, which told of a massive massacre committed by the Soviets against the Polish in the Katyn forest. The Nazis dragged POWs to the aftermath of the atrocity, ostensibly to "admit" to the crime, but the decayed corpses and documents on the bodies told them that it had to have been the handiwork of the Russians.
As 1,000 declassified documents as released by the U.S. National Archives indicate, the highest levels of the U.S. government willingly suppressed Soviet culpability for the next 72 years. Even after Soviet Russia admitted to the atrocity in 1990, the U.S. protected a horrible crime, in what can be considered nothing short of a conspiracy...
Despite knowing that its wartime ally, Josef Stalin, was responsible for the massacre of 22,000 Polish officers, President Franklin Roosevelt and his cabinet decided to maintain friendly relations. A U.S. Congressional committee found that “Roosevelt's administration suppressed public knowledge of the crime,” although it was excused for doing so out of a “military necessity.” The information was suppressed over many instances, in order to appease the Soviets during WWII and to nullify tensions during the Cold War.
Over the span of seven decades, the U.S. failed to blame or punish Soviet Russia for the Katyn Massacre. In doing so, it allowed for further war crimes to be committed against Poland under Soviet rule. This development also adds weight to the conspiracy that the U.S. government will do anything to save face, or that of its coconspirators.
